How to get your brand into ChatGPT answers
Customers no longer search for everything on Google. They ask ChatGPT "which is a good furniture store in Baku" and see three or four names in the answer. Is yours on that list? In this article we lay out the steps that actually work for showing up in AI answers.

Where AI gets its answers

ChatGPT, Gemini, Perplexity and Google's AI Overviews don't make answers up out of nothing. Models with search read web pages in real time; the rest rely on the public sources they learned from: websites, directories, news sites, reviews, forums.

The upshot is simple: if there's no clear, accurate and consistent information about you online, the model has no grounds to recommend you.

Answer-style content on your site

AI models quote paragraphs that answer a question directly, not long promotional copy. Your site needs sentences that say who you are, where you're based, what you do, who you serve, your price range and your timelines.

A practical step: add an FAQ section of 4-5 questions to every service page. Give the answer to each question in the first sentence and the explanation after it. Use numbers. No model will quote "high-quality service", but it will quote "a website is ready in 3-5 weeks".

The technical foundation

If a model can't read your site, the quality of the content doesn't matter. There are three things to check.

First, schema markup: Organization, LocalBusiness and FAQPage structures tell machines who the site belongs to and which questions it answers. Second, the robots.txt file: if AI bots such as GPTBot, OAI-SearchBot and PerplexityBot are accidentally blocked, your site is invisible to those systems. Third, speed and indexing: a page Google hasn't indexed won't be seen by its AI Overviews either.

Your footprint beyond the site

An AI model doesn't just take your word for it; it checks you against other sources. That's why your footprint off the site matters: a Google Business Profile, directories such as Clutch and TechBehemoths, mentions on local news sites, real customer reviews.

One rule: your company name, address and phone number must be written the same way everywhere. If you go by one name in one place and another name somewhere else, the model may treat them as two different companies.

How to check the results

Write down 10 questions your customers might ask, for example "recommend an SMM agency for a restaurant in Baku". Put these questions to ChatGPT, Gemini and Perplexity every month and log the answers in a spreadsheet: does your name come up or not, and which sources are cited.

To be honest: there are no guarantees here, and results don't come in a week. But few companies are working on this today, which means the space is still open.
